Philadelphia Real Estate Tax Appeal due date

Philadelphia Real Estate Tax Appeal Deadline for 2027

Philadelphia property owners who believe their property’s assessed market value is too high may file an appeal with the Philadelphia Board of Revision of Taxes. The deadline to appeal an assessment for Tax Year 2027 is Monday, October 5, 2026.

A successful appeal should be supported by credible market evidence demonstrating the property’s value as of January 1, 2027. Depending on the property, this may include comparable sales, photographs, income and expense information, leases, or a professional real estate appraisal. Beginning the process early provides enough time to review the assessment and prepare the necessary documentation.

H.M. Hoffman & Company provides independent residential appraisal services for Philadelphia property owners and their representatives. If you are considering a tax assessment appeal, contact Jesse Hoffman at jesse@hmhoffman.com or visit www.hmhoffman.com.
